Fresh Air with Terry Gross

I love Terry Gross. Funny thing is, I didn't listen to Fresh Air when I lived in Philly.
I'm a late bloomer I guess. For some reason the online Fresh Air archieves broadcast clearer in my studio then
any others do. When I'm not sweat'n to the oldies I'm an NPR junkie I'm recommending some of my favorite interviews
on Fresh Air for good times. Some of them have been really provacative... or evocative.
Just type these tags in to the search box:
Robert Crumb, Iggy Pop, Chris Rock, Father Greg Boyle, Steve Martin, Thelma Schoonmaker, Bill "spaceman" Lee,
Richard Pryor, Matt Groening, Paul Auster, David Rackoff, Triumph the insult comedy dog/Robert Smigel, 20th anniversary
show, David Cronenberg.
If anyone knows of some other goodies, let me know.

Aaron, this is my 2nd introduction to the willow house (I wrote somethings in Justin's mixtape piece).

This is Rubens, I'm not sure if you remember or even know me, but I went to Tyler, graduated with 3/4 of the willow house heads and am married to Lynne Marinelli.

I love Terry! I still talk about the ending of the 20th anniversary show where they were playing all of the thank you's (Danny Devito's was hilarious).
Tom Waits had a good one and there was a beautiful interview with Seu Jorge but I don't think Terry was the interviewer.

Btw, all of you cats' work looks massive!
I just saw T.C. at an opening tonight in Phila. He told me about this spot.

T.C., it was a pleasure seeing you brother.

Oh Justin, I don't know if you remember this, but while we were in Rome I was listening to a lot of Tom Zé and one night you and I were looking at the cd layout, you were reading some of the liner notes with his statements and you said something to the effect of "This is what my work is all about" or "This is what I want my work to be about"...

I went to your blog tonight and I was like Dang, that's Tom Zé!!! without thinking first of that conversation.

Hey Rubens, of course I remember you and Lynn. Do you live in Philly? Terry's good. I'm just being stupid. Dan just gave me a bunch of Tom Ze (at least I think that's where I got it from...)Great stuff. What album were you looking at, I'm not sure I was ever able to figure that out later when I was looking for it.

The Tom Zé album was callled "Brazil Classics, Vol. 4: The Best of Tom Ze - Massive Hits". It's still one of my favorite records of all time.
Yo, btw I'm really feeling both of your guys current work. Dan I still have that painting you gave me ("Here and There"). Are you still in Fishtown? We live in Germantown.
I don't know if you guys will be around, I know Justin is in Cali, right?! Rene Smith asked me to be part of a group show in Long island City at a spot named Subdivision. It opens July 28th. Elizabeth Zans and Ann Flaherty are also in it.

Good to hear from you guys, peace...

Hey Rubens. You're hooked on Terry too I see.
The goodbye montage on the anniversary show was
great. My favorite was Lou Reed hanging up on her
before they even got to the end.
I checked out your blog. The whole family seems
amazing. I'll be in touch.
