i gotta say that times new viking is the first pitchfork approved, cool-kid rock band i've been able to get behind in a LONG time. they kinda remind me of huggy bear. i've been listening to them non stop for like a week now.

man you should have seen them they are great live. this was the second time i saw them first was when they opened for the clean. the girl in times new viking gave me multiple dirty looks because i told her friend to be quiet as he was talking so loud at the front of the stage you could hear more of him in david kilgour's mike than david kilgour. times new viking is such a great band i dont even care that the lead singer thinks i'm a jerk. i'm still a fan.

yeah, i debated checking out the show, but i figured it'd have been super crowded since that venue just opened? plus, i had plans last night anyway... they're an NYC band though, right? i'm sure they'll be back...

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I didn't care too much for Times New Viking's live show. I saw them open for Wire and the female keyboard player was just not doin' it for me. Don't get me wrong I love the recordings. She is cute and all, but somehow charmless on stage and her "rocking out" seemed like a mom "rocking out". ...and her vocals didn't translate to the live performance and just came across as weak. I really wanted to like it, but just couldn't go there. Also to note: Wire is the most bitter band in the world.
