i came across this image while googling for pics of "clouds of smoke" for a painting i'm working on. apparently, this was the result of arson in australia. i dunno-- i thought it was interesting. i'm sort of preoccupied lately with the overlap between turmoil and beauty-- the way something can be impressive in form, and disastrous in content.
