how to post mp3's

I've gotten a few questions about this, so here's what i do...

i got a free account on http://www.ezarchive.com . you get 100mb of storage space for pictures, mp3's, whatever you want (about 2 albums worth of mp3s at 96kb/s). if this isn't enough, then for a little $, you can increase the storage space. once you've uploaded something, just click on it, choose "create link" at the bottom, then click "create link" again to get onto the SECOND page of links and cut and paste the "DIRECT HOTLINK" into a new blog entry. ("direct hotlink" as opposed to "permalink", "embedded player", etc. this is assuming you want people to be able to download)

click on the following picture to see where to paste the link onto your blogspot post:

(if this doesn't make sense, sign in and pretend you're going to edit one of my posts and see what the text entry looks like.)

sometimes if the files are m4a's they have trouble downloading off of the website. check and if they're ok leave them, but ONLY if they don't work, change the extension on the original uploaded file in ezarchive from .m4a to .mp3 . then it should work. (don't ask me why..) one thing that kind of sucks is that ezarchive sometimes only allows 96 kb/s as the maximum bitrate of mp3 files (sometimes not, seemingly randomly), which is pretty shitty quality (listen to mine and you'll see...) so if you figure out a better storage solution than this one, let me know.

good luck,

justin
