weird. i've heard good things about the bob seger system era stuff of his, supposedly along MC5-ish lines. according to wikipedia, he changed his tune politically around then and started writing anti war songs.

i'm kind of obsessed with right wing celebrities. did you know that john malkovich is a conservative? i just read that yesterday. kind of a bummer.

In the eyes of Alice Cooper, all the rock stars campaigning for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry are guilty of one thing: treason. The shock-rock legend, a staunch Republican who attends NBA games in Phoenix with Arizona Senator John McCain, was disgusted when he learned of plans by BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, JOHN MELLENCAMP, R.E.M. and other bands to hold a series of concerts aimed at unseating U.S. President George W. Bush.

yeah, i knew that already. alice cooper is at least an interesting dude though. listen to his interview with terry gross on fresh air. he talks about being close friends with groucho marx towards the end of his life. apparently he told groucho he saw "alice" (which he refers to in the 3rd person) as a kind of contemporary vaudeville. apparently groucho totally agreed and the two of them would brainstorm ideas for concerts!

the most disappointing right wing celeb is definitely norm macdonald though. i love that guy!
