also, since i actually watched the entire oscars this year (thanks alcohol!) and was more-pleased-than-usual to see an idiosyncratic director rewarded for a movie that actually is, imo, as good as people say it is (the hurt locker), i thought i'd post the trailer for kathryn bigelow's tragically under-seen semi-debut, the loveless. young willem da foe + old school roger corman vibe + kenneth anger kink + co-directed with a dude who worked on wild at heart. yes:
