one of my favorite movies. jack and i got lucky a couple weeks ago and managed to get into herzog's completely packed free lecture at penn. it was great. security was called to remove people from sitting in the aisle and herzog was everything you know and expect him to be. what is this music? i know popol vuh did the orig soundtrack which i actually liked. this isnt them is it?
it's popol vuh. they also did aquirre and a few others.
i saw the screening of the herzog doc the night prior to that lecture. i wish i had gone to the lecture i guess. i was a little disappointed with the film.
anyway, for justin-- yes, definitely check out j. broaderick's jesu... one of the few rock acts i can still get behind nowadays. their silver e.p. is a good place to start; i can send you some shit if you want.
whoops. ignore the beginning of that last comment. this is a music video using the footage. the popol vuh soundtrack is much dreamier and less metal. i must admit i commented uopn recognizing the footage, rather than really watching it. apologies.
the song is "heaven" by health. my friend brett made the video. he's in a band called anavan that's worth checking out if you like essential logic or suburban lawns type awkward goofy post-punk sound.
i need to actually watch these things the whole way through.
I heard these guys recently. good stuff! Finally some good L.A. music.
