i saw this last night on juancole.com (which is, like, the war-in-iraq blog in my opinion, if anyone cares). i was beginning to think all this stuff was getting redundant (i.e. i've been more into people discussing what to do NOW, etc.), but this clip is so totally LITERAL that it's pretty mind-blowing. there's more detail on juan cole's page too:
yes. I'd prefer to look at shitty haircuts on crappy singers with bad clothes all day long, but in this case I made an exception. if anything, this one clip should become redundant and boring. it should be seen everywhere.

oh, what i meant by the above is that (in general) i think the iraq debate centers too much on who-knew-what-when, etc.-- which usually just re-iterates positions that most reasonable people, far as i'm concerned, held prior to the invasion (that it was a mistake, that hussein was not a real threat, not linked to al queda, etc.)... and there are tougher questions to ask right now-- like how do we exit? what happens when iran, syria and turkey pressure their ways in when we leave, what happens with ethnic/religious conflicts, what happens with the massive numbers of refugees fleeing the country, etc. i don't think people are answering these things on the left or the right.
(i'm sort of a long-winded person, apologies)
BUT, in the case of the video, cheney is saying things so BLATANTLY at odds with everything he's done in office that it's actually pretty astounding. so i'm glad to see it on here. and you're absolutely right-- people ought to be aware that this clip is out there, because it's so fucked up!
besides, a break from the youtube rock anthems is nice once in a while, no?
apologies if my initial comment sounded punchy. totally didn't mean it that way.
no apologetics necessary. I appreciate the juan cole link and the info there. never been there before.
I wasn't being snarky. I love my bad haircuts and great music and will continue to concentrate on such passions, only this exception I made for the good of plastering this clip on as many electric screens as possible. no harm taken/intended.
the willow house was a fucked up little house we used to call home while we were at tyler school of art together. the house was condemned by the city. now we're all scattered all over the place, far from willow ave. i thought this might be a good way for us to keep in touch and share music and whatever projects we're working on. maybe also give each other a kick in the pants to make art or whatever.
